Kadir CERAN

Kadir Ceran graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of ITU in 2000 and from the Department of Design Engineering of Gebze Technical University in 2004. in 2010, he received a doctoral qualification from the Department of Industrial Product Design of ITU. During his doctoral studies, he conducted research and studies on design management, multidisciplinary product development processes, creative problem solving techniques, open innovation and user experience design in autonomous vehicles (UXD).

For +25 years, he has worked and led global R&D, Technology, Innovation, Program Management and Digital Transformation Projects at International (+20 countries) Fortune 100&500 companies (GE Aerospace, Ford Motor Company, Siemens, Bosch, Ar Decelik, Stellantis (Fiat-PSA)). During this period, he served in America, Europe and the Far East for about 3 years. He has taught 17 different courses at the Academy, mainly at ITU, as a part-time lecturer.

He was an academic consultant to an international team related to TRIZ (creative problem solving techniques) software, which works simultaneously on Android and IOS systems for the first time in the world.

He has held the positions of Project Leader at Arçelik Decenter R&D, Senior Project Leader at Ford Germany, Aviation Leader Program Manager at General Electric. He has worked as Global R&D Manager at Bosch Siemens Hausgerate and Wittur.Dec. The establishment of Arçelik Design Academy has assumed the program leadership. At FIAT-Tofaş R&Dec, he managed the advanced technology program office, the team responsible for incentives, intellectual rights, innovation trends and the official R&Dec Center. He carried out the LEAR (Legal Entity Appointed Representative) task on behalf of Tofaş for the European Union H2020 projects. He has been a member of the EGVIA (European Association of Green Vehicles and Transport Initiative) working group. During the period of his leadership, according to the official results of the Ministry of Industry, TOFAŞ received the “Turkey's best automotive R&D Center” award Dec.

He served as the chairman of the Dec (Automotive Industrialists' Association) R&D /Intellectual Rights and Incentives committee and as a member of the Innovation and Creativity Expert Group of BUSIAD (Bursa Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association). He has served on the Technology, Innovation, R&D, Digital Transformation, Intellectual Rights committees at TUSIAD, YASED, Koç Holding Dec. He has been an Academic Advisor of Dec (Automotive Industry Exporters Association) R&D Engineer training program.

He has taught as a guest lecturer at undergraduate and graduate level at universities. As a volunteer, he worked as a business development and strategy mentor at ITU UX. In many national competitions (ITU Big Bang, The Future of Automotive ..etc.) jury membership and conference (OTEKON, IAEC..etc.) has served on the regulatory board. There are international skates.

He has been a Member of the Executive Board at Ottonom Engineering Company, which provides high-tech R&D, Design, Testing and Engineering Services to international companies such as AIRBUS, BOEING and Pratt & Whitney and national companies such as TAI, TAI, ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, TOFAŞ, KARSAN, ARÇELIK.He has been a member of the Executive Board of Ottonom Engineering Company. He has been a member of the Executive Board of Ottonom Engineering Company. He has provided high-tech R&D, Design, Testing and Engineering Services to national companies such as TAI, ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, TOFAŞ, KARSAN, ARÇELIK Dec.

He has served as a key expert and team leader in European Union, UNDP and World Bank projects. He is a member of the European Engineering Learning Innovation and Science Alliance (EELISA). In NGOs and Universities (YenibirLider, TTGV, ITU, YTU, Teknopark Istanbul, PMI Turkey.. etc) carries out an active mentoring task. International Catalyst 2030 Turkey is one of the members.

As a strategist, consultant and trainer, he contributes to impact-oriented and output-oriented activities based on real experience with the goal of making a difference.

As a TUBITAK – TUSSIDE certified Digital Transformation (DDX) Leader, he provides training and consultancy to Turkish Industry and abroad on R&D, Technology, innovation and Decadal transformation (digital & green) transformation issues.

  • He is the TUBITAK Referee and Independent Move Program auditor.
  • He writes and does podcasts on related topics in INC Turkey Magazine and LinkedIn.
  • He is a Member of the Advisory Board of ITU Ginova, the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center of ITU, and ITU 1773.
